Golden Ratio
Did a few test pictures and videos for an upcoming project. The pictures were taken with my F-601 and some expired Kodak Gold 800, so I won't get those back for a while. On the other hand, the video is already cataloged and backed up on my external. The big question is: Do I want to stick to the usual 16:9 aspect ratio, or do I want to give 2.35:1 a shot. The footage came out alright, but shooting at 24p resulted in some really apparent scan lines. I have to decide if the more "cinematic" look is worth the deteriorated footage and learning curve of a new aspect ratio.
To compare, here is the same frame in 16:9 (above) and 2.35:1 (below). Click for big.
